Scientists at the Massachusetts institute of technology (MIT) have developed a new technology, can be generated from the dry desert air moisture, so as to save the lives of those living in the harsh desert climate. The technology could turn moisture in the air into water, according to a new report by MIT researchers in the journal Nature Communications. As a result, the technology will be available worldwide because the air in every part of the earth contains at least a certain amount of moisture.

The MIT team says the latest research could help people survive in the driest climate on earth. The technology was first mentioned in a paper in the journal science last year, but there are people in the scientific community who are optimistic about the technology and others skeptical.

Evelyn ⋅ professor wang is one of the authors of the paper, at the same time to participate in the latest study, she said: "the technology had already received a lot of attention, also drew criticism from some. In the latest paper, all the questions raised last time are clearly displayed. We tested the validity of those ideas."

Evelyn ⋅ professor wang said that the device during the test place at Arizona state university on the roof of the building, can let the researchers "in the typical arid region, the technology and suggests that we can even is below zero access to water." In addition, the maintenance cost of the system is lower than similar products. Researcher Sameer Rao said: 'it has no active components and can operate in a completely passive way in low-humidity but sunny places.'

"Now we have proved that this is feasible," professor Evelyn said, adding that the next step is to improve the efficiency of the technology. "We wanted to create a system that would generate a few liters of water. We want to see water coming out, "she said. Study wrote, "these small initial test system can only create a few ml of water, to prove the concept under the condition of reality are effective, but the idea is to create enough water supply equipment for individual family." The scientists did not detect impurities in the water produced during the test.
